Senator McConnell claims the legislation will restore the nation’s credibility.
This week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell advocated for the passage of a $95 billion foreign aid package currently being sidelined in the House.
Members of the House majority have been critical of the foreign aid package, saying that the United States should not spend more money on Ukraine, Israel, or elsewhere when there are other issues going on domestically. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has not brought the foreign aid bill to the House floor for a vote after the Senate approved it.
Senator McConnell stated, “The national security bill passed in the Senate will help rebuild and modernize our military, restore our credibility on the world stage, and give the current Commander-in-Chief, as well as the next, more tools to face growing coordination among our adversaries.”
